Historical / architectural elements:
Dating from about 1800. It is three aisled basilica as the St. Dimitrios in Xifiani. It has low door (as the Church of Assumption of the Virgin in Upper Garefi and St. Dimitrios in Aetochori), so as not to enter the church, the horseback Turks. Next to the old church there is a new church since 1989, with the same priest. The church characterized preservable monument.
Level of protection / maintenance:
The decoration and the frescoes are badly maintained. Almost does not seem what they depict. In some images there has been cleaned a small part, by a specialist conservator on his own initiative.

The church is in the village, so the access is easy.

The church attracts many people. The festivities associated with the church is the Kurban, like in all Almopia. Kourbani takes place on January 18. Residents slaughter an animal (usually a sheep or calf) and then distribute the meat, cooked or raw, around the village. The distribution is the square of the region.
